Name every recipient and purpose before booking a language test. Check the exact test name, version, accepted delivery method and result timing in that recipient’s current instructions. A test accepted for one immigration route or university application should not be assumed acceptable for another simply because the provider is well known.
A recognised brand can offer different tests
IRCC’s Express Entry instructions specify accepted language tests and versions, including IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General and PTE Core. The page also says IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted for Express Entry. Match the product before paying
Write the official requirement beside the provider’s booking product. Record any result-validity or submission-stage wording exactly from the recipient, without adding a universal period. If two recipients need evidence, keep separate rows even when you hope one booking can serve both.

One booking may not serve two purposes
Illustrative situation: a person plans a university application and a later immigration profile. Before choosing a test, compare both official accepted-evidence lists. If they require different products, identify that conflict before payment. Ask the actual recipient about unclear wording; a test centre’s familiarity with another applicant does not determine what this institution accepts.
Keep proof of the decision
Retain the recipient’s instructions, checked date and exact booking confirmation. Check identification and access arrangements with the provider, especially where a passport renewal or accommodation request is involved.
