When a passport changes, list every immigration account, visa and travel record that uses its details. Follow each authority’s update process and retain confirmation. Do not assume that renewing a passport automatically updates an airline booking or a digital immigration record held by another organisation.
A UKVI update has a defined scope
GOV.UK advises keeping passport and contact details current in a UKVI account to support travel and communication. It says this service updates account details rather than changing an immigration application and identifies circumstances in which particular details cannot be changed through it. Make a passport-link inventory
Record document type and expiry privately, without placing full passport numbers in a broadly shared spreadsheet. Identify which record is linked to the old document and whether the update has actually been acknowledged. A message you sent and an update completed are different evidence states.

Two documents can create an identity mismatch
