Australia VEVO: check visa conditions before accepting work

Read the actual Australian visa conditions before accepting work or changing an activity. Use the official VEVO route and the grant record to identify the relevant wording, rather than borrowing the permissions of someone with a different visa.

Use the official VEVO access route

Home Affairs describes VEVO as a service for checking visa details and conditions. Visa holders can use it to send proof of conditions to others, and organisations can check with the holder's permission. VEVO is not the service for proving Australian citizenship. Your working sheet

The following is an editorial organisation tool, not an official application checklist. Copy the rows that help and fill them with your own verified records.

CheckWhat to record
RecordKeep the visa grant and a dated official conditions check
ActivityDescribe the intended employer occupation course or work arrangement
QuestionConnect the proposed activity to the exact condition that needs clarification

A practical example

A student considering a paid placement should record whether the placement is part of the course and what the actual visa conditions say. The fact that another student has a similar placement does not explain whether both are permitted under the same conditions.

Before the next step

Use Home Affairs' explanations or an authorised advice channel for uncertain wording. Share proof only through the official or accepted process needed by the recipient. Recheck after a new visa or a relevant change rather than treating an old saved result as a permanent answer.
