Research Brazil’s Mercosur-related residence instructions using your nationality and the precise application stage. A regional label is a starting point for finding the route, not an individual residence decision.

What the official guidance establishes

The Federal Police lists a Mercosur residence agreement service and separate Brazil–Argentina and Brazil–Uruguay agreement services. Its guidance also identifies route-specific document-authentication exceptions. Read Brazil Federal Police: migration questions for the original scope and current instructions.

Choose the named agreement rather than a regional shortcut

Write the nationality shown in the intended travel document, the agreement service you found and whether you are researching a new application or a later residence step. Keep the actual official service name in Portuguese as well as your English note so you can find it again.

Read the checklist as one coherent route

Make a private document index from that service. When you see an exception involving translations or authentication, save the relevant provision with the item. Avoid combining convenient parts of two agreements into a new checklist of your own.

Prepare a narrow authority enquiry

If two service descriptions seem relevant, describe your nationality, present location, record held and intended action to the responsible authority. Ask which service to use. A clearly framed question is more useful than sending a large unsorted set of documents.

Your working sheet

This is an optional IMMIGEUROPE planning worksheet, not an official application form or a new document requirement.

Worked planning example

A fictional Argentine national finds both the Mercosur and bilateral agreement pages. Instead of choosing whichever online checklist looks shorter, they record both service names and ask which corresponds to their intended stage. Their comparison sheet does not itself select eligibility.

Record the answer and keep it with the official service link before preparing the final submission. Keep the next action in the moving planner and use the guide library for the next part of your move.
