Use a document-purpose card to separate Brazil’s immigration registration number, immigration identity card and CPF record. First ask the organisation for the exact identifier or document it wants.

What the official guidance establishes

Federal Police guidance describes RNM as the migration registration number and CRNM as the migration registration card. Receita Federal manages CPF records for Brazilian and foreign individuals, including residents and non-residents. Read Brazil Federal Police: migration questions for the original scope and current instructions.

Write the acronym and its purpose

Make three rows: RNM, CRNM and CPF. In each, write the full name, issuer and the document or confirmation you have. Keep a bank’s request separate from the immigration office’s request; a request for a number and a request to see an identity document are different tasks.

Resolve ambiguous requests privately

If a form says only “Brazilian ID,” ask which documents are accepted for your situation and whether the organisation needs the number, a copy or an in-person identity check. Use its verified support channel. Do not post a full identity card or tax number in a public help group.

Keep old and new terminology connected

When an older record uses RNE or CIE, preserve its original label in your index and ask the recipient how to present it alongside the current record. Do not edit the document to make its terminology look current.

Your working sheet

This is an optional IMMIGEUROPE planning worksheet, not an official application form or a new document requirement.

Worked planning example

A fictional employer asks for a CPF number while a separate onboarding form asks for proof of immigration status. The worker creates two tasks and asks what evidence the second field accepts. Sending a CPF confirmation alone would not answer the second question in this worksheet.

Keep an unredacted copy only in the private document file; use a redacted question when discussing the problem generally. Keep the next action in the moving planner and use the guide library for the next part of your move.
