Verify the exact institution, campus and program before relying on a promise about post-study work. A DLI number and a marketing statement about graduate employment answer different questions.

Identify the exact school campus and program

IRCC defines a DLI as a school approved by a province or territory to host international students. Its list distinguishes institutions and programs relevant to post-graduation work research. It explicitly warns that not all programs offered by a DLI are PGWP-eligible and that applicants must meet the other PGWP criteria. Read IRCC: Designated learning institutions list.

Your working sheet

The following is an editorial organisation tool, not an official application checklist. Copy the rows that help and fill them with your own verified records.

CheckWhat to record
School identityRecord the legal institution campus and DLI number
ProgramMatch the exact award and program against the current official PGWP information
DecisionCompare the findings with the written offer deposit and refund terms

A practical example

Imagine a college advertises some PGWP-eligible programs, but the offered program is different. The reader's next task is to check the specific program and applicable criteria. Copying the institution's number into a budget does not resolve that program-level uncertainty.

Before the next step

Ask the institution for precise course details and keep the official source date. Revisit the check if the campus or program changes. Do not pay a non-refundable deposit solely on an agent's general statement that every graduate can work afterwards.
