Verify the institution, exact course, campus and awarding body before applying or paying. Treat educational recognition and eligibility for a student immigration route as separate checks.

What the official guidance establishes

Your Europe states there is no automatic EU-wide recognition of academic diplomas. UK Student guidance separately specifies an offer from a licensed student sponsor; neither point makes every advertised overseas course suitable for your goal. Read Your Europe: academic diploma recognition for the original scope and current instructions.

Identify exactly what is being sold

Record the legal institution name, teaching location, course title, delivery mode and the body issuing the final award. Compare these details across the offer, provider website and any recruitment agent’s statement. Mark a partner-campus arrangement for clarification rather than assuming it shares every recognition of the main campus.

Check the relevant official records

Use the destination’s official education or recognition authority for the institution and award. For immigration purposes, use the student route’s sponsor or provider instructions separately. Save the result and date for the exact course you intend to take, not a similarly named programme.

Test the course against the next goal

If the goal is further study or a regulated profession, ask the receiving university or regulator what it will recognise. Request a written answer about the actual award. A useful decision file records both what has been confirmed and the remaining dependency before a deposit is paid.

Your working sheet

This is an optional IMMIGEUROPE planning worksheet, not an official application form or a new document requirement.

Worked planning example

A fictional student finds a course taught by a partner college but awarded by a different institution. They verify both roles and ask about the exact award’s intended use. The main university’s reputation does not replace that specific check.

Resolve the institution-and-award chain before relying on an agent’s broad recognition claim. Keep the next action in the moving planner and use the guide library for the next part of your move.
