Check immigration form versions before signing or submitting

Check a form’s official source, number, version and signing instructions before completing it. A copy saved during earlier research should remain a research copy until those details are confirmed.

Check a form’s official source, number, version and signing instructions before completing it. A copy saved during earlier research should remain a research copy until those details are confirmed.

What the official guidance establishes

GOV.UK maintains an immigration-form collection. IRCC’s IMM 5669 guidance distinguishes a digital version from a PDF version and tells applicants to use the version required by their programme. Read GOV.UK: visa and immigration application forms for the original scope and current instructions.

Make a form register

For each requested form, save the official landing-page link, form name and number, displayed version and the date you downloaded it. Record whether the route uses an online questionnaire instead. Do not infer that an old PDF is appropriate because the form number has not changed.

Confirm the intended applicant and format

Read who must complete the form and the route-specific submission instructions. Keep separate entries when family members need their own records. If the form opens incorrectly, use the authority’s technical guidance rather than converting it into an unapproved replacement.

Review signatures at the final stage

Check the precise signature method, date requirements and any validation instruction in the current guide. Preserve a copy of the final prepared version. When an authority requests a revision, record the changed version and resend only through the specified process.

Your working sheet

This is an optional IMMIGEUROPE planning worksheet, not an official application form or a new document requirement.

Worked planning example

A fictional applicant has both a downloaded PDF and a digital form in the application account. They consult the programme instructions before completing both. Their register records the chosen required format and why the other remains a reference copy.

Use current official instructions at submission time instead of relying on a form shared in a group chat. Keep the next action in the moving planner and use the guide library for the next part of your move.
