Find the ICA instructions for the actual school category, course and current status. A course enrolment offer by itself is not a complete description of the immigration steps the student needs.

Find the ICA instructions for the actual school category, course and current status. A course enrolment offer by itself is not a complete description of the immigration steps the student needs.

Confirm the school and course category

ICA's Student's Pass guidance distinguishes types of educational institution and requires acceptance into an approved full-time course for this route. It explains that part-time, evening and weekend courses are not eligible for a Student's Pass. It also describes situations involving an existing valid long-term pass. Read Singapore ICA: Becoming a Student's Pass Holder.

Your working sheet

The following is an editorial organisation tool, not an official application checklist. Copy the rows that help and fill them with your own verified records.

CheckWhat to record
School categoryIdentify the approved institution type and exact course
Current recordRecord any existing pass and its validity for separate research
HandoverAsk the school which application steps it initiates and which records the student supplies

A practical example

For example, a person considering an evening course should not automatically begin a full-time Student's Pass checklist. Their first question is whether that course and their existing status fit the official instructions. The school should explain the course category through a verified institutional contact.

Before the next step

Use the relevant ICA category page and keep the school's written answers with the enrolment evidence. Research a school transfer or an expiring existing pass before assuming the original arrangement continues. Add appointment and travel steps only from the actual application instructions.
