Prepare a South African study file with the institution's official contact and the applicant's separate evidence tasks. Ask the school what it provides for the visa and what remains a student responsibility.
Verify the institution and acceptance record
DHA's visa guidance includes a separate Study Visas section with education and applicant evidence. It lists study-related undertakings involving the receiving institution. Course acceptance and the immigration application are therefore tasks to coordinate, rather than a single admission event. Read South African DHA: Types of visas study section.
Your working sheet
The following is an editorial organisation tool, not an official application checklist. Copy the rows that help and fill them with your own verified records.
| Check | What to record |
|---|---|
| Institution | Record the real course provider acceptance and official student contact |
| School evidence | Identify the letter or undertaking requested by the current visa instructions |
| Applicant file | Track identity funding insurance and other records only as requested for the actual application |
A practical example
Suppose a student receives a place but the course start date changes. Their handover table should ask whether the institution's visa letter also needs changing. A new timetable sent to the student does not prove all official supporting records now reflect the same date.
Before the next step
Read the current DHA study section and the responsible mission or application-channel instructions. Confirm the institution and document format before spending on additional records. Plan commencement and travel around actual permission, rather than assuming admission alone completes the immigration process.
